Record Number of Visitors in 2006 At the Killarney Outlet Centre

Ireland's Premier Outlet Centre the Killarney Outlet Centre celebrated its seventh year of trading by recording the highest number of visitors to the Centre since the Centre opened it's doors in 1999.  It is now firmly established as the South West's number one shopping destination with almost 2 million visitors to the Centre in 2006.

In the past seven years The Killarney Outlet Centre has proven to be a favourite attraction with both locals and tourists alike, offering shoppers a unique mix of retailers, both international and Irish brands - with a shopping experience that is different from the traditional shopping centre and with visitor numbers that are the envy of most Retail Centres throughout Ireland.

Particularly strong brands in 2006 was leading Fashion Store Leading Labels who stock top male and female brands; Ponden Mills who are Home Interiors Specialists and Pavers Shoe Store, who are just about to invest in a new Re-fit of their Killarney Store.  All three stores are positioned at No 1 performing store within their organisations for the UK and Ireland.

New Collection LaunchOn 1st March, in conjunction with the store unveiling its new look, Pavers will be launching a new range of Female Footwear called Staccato, fresh from the Catwalks of Europe.  The range has European Styling and High Fashion as a key element and with the usual great savings of at least 30% off RRP.  Stuart Paver, Managing Director of Pavers UK and Ireland stated "We are excited about introducing Staccato to one of our top performing stores and at such a key time of the store's brand new refit.  Staccato has proved very popular with fashion conscious girls throughout Europe and I just know that stylish girls in Killarney and beyond will find the collection a great new edition to Pavers in Killarney." New openings in the Centre during 2006 were Director's Cut Store, offering great value in CD's and DVD's and also leading Coffee House, Costa Coffee.  Both outlets have reported performances beyond their initial 2006 forecasts.

Paul Sherry, Killarney Outlet Centre Manager delighted with the figures just issued stated "Every year the number of visitors to the Centre increases and there seems to be no levelling off on the numbers."

Of particular interest in the trading year was the fact that Trading in December 2006 was well above expectations and a significant lift was seen from the middle of November, right through to the end of December.  "This shows us the enormous importance of the loyal local custom to the Centre.  People in Killarney and in Kerry as a whole now see the Centre as a great shopping resource all year round which is vital for the continued success of all our Stores" Paul stated.

"As a special thank you we launched a very successful scheme in November, to reward loyal shoppers, through a Privilege Club. Members of this Club are offered great savings in store in many of the participating outlets and this has proved a popular initiative with the local market".  Anyone wishing to join the Killarney Outlet Centre Privilege Club just have to fill in an application form available in store or from the Management Office.
